"Retirement lasts longer than a nice dinner..."
I saw the graphic below recently and thought it may help explain why a lot of experts feel we are heading towards a retirement crisis. More people spend 2+ hours trying to make a decision that results in immediate gratification (i.e. where to eat dinner or buying the latest electronic device) than planning a retirement investment. Maybe if we spent as much time determining the relative merits of a Roth IRA versus a Traditional IRA as we do a Samsung TV versus Sony, our retirement savings would be better off.
